We are seeking a nurturing and dedicated IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Homeroom Teacher to join our enthusiastic team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to guide and inspire young learners through inquiry-based learning within the framework of the IB PYP. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Homeroom Leadership:

Serve as the primary teacher and mentor for a designated homeroom class, responsible for the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students.Build strong relationships with students and families, serving as a point of contact for communication and support.


2. Curriculum Delivery:

Plan and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons that align with the IB PYP framework and local curriculum requirements.Foster inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.


3. Assessment and Reporting:

Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instructional planning.Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and families through progress reports and conferences.


4. Collaboration and Professional Development:

Collaborate with colleagues within the PYP team and across disciplines to integrate transdisciplinary units and promote interdisciplinary learning.Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in IB education.


5. Student Support:

Provide individualized support and guidance to students based on their unique learning needs and interests.Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that celebrates diversity and respects each student's background and experiences.


Qualifications:

Teaching degree.Experience teaching in an IB PYP or inquiry-based learning environment.Strong understanding of child development principles.


Key Competencies:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.Creativity and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of young learners and differentiate instruction accordingly.Commitment to the principles and philosophy of the International Baccalaureate, with a passion for inquiry-based learning and holistic education.Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
