Job Summary
The William L. Jenkins Forensic Center, located in the scenic and vibrant Johnson City, Tennessee, is seeking a dedicated part-time temporary Autopsy Technician 1 to support forensic pathologists in conducting thorough postmortem examinations. In this critical role, the Autopsy Technician will assist with a range of essential tasks, including preparing the autopsy suite, organizing necessary paperwork, and specimen containers, and ensuring the body is ready for examination. The technician will also support forensic pathologists during the autopsy process by handling tasks such as moving bodies, photographing evidence, taking x-rays, collecting and packaging evidence, documenting personal effects, gathering toxicology specimens, performing evisceration and organ weighing, and restoring the body after examination. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the autopsy suite and workstations. Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, or a related field, with coursework in Anatomy and Physiology. One (1) year of full-time experience in emergency medical services, hospital settings, funeral homes, or donor services. Experience working with decedents or in a forensic or medical environment is highly preferred.
