We are seeking an experienced 
SQL developer / query optimization specialist

with a deep understanding of database systems and strong skills in improving query performance. This role is not about general software development - your primary focus will be on 
analyzing, designing, writing, and optimizing database queries

to ensure maximum efficiency and stability across our data systems. We want s

omeone who can explain why a certain query is slow, how it should be redesigned, and what the underlying database engine is actually doing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing SQL queries and identify performance bottlenecks;
  • Write, restructure, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures;
  • Work with relational databases (and potentially vector databases) to improve query efficiency;
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to advise on best practices for data modeling and indexing;
  • Monitor query performance and implement tuning strategies;
  • Ensure efficient use of database resources through indexing, partitioning, execution plan analysis, etc.

What we expect from you:

  • Strong expertise in SQL and experience with query optimization;
  • Ability to read and understand execution plans and database performance metrics;
  • Solid understanding of relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, etc.)
  • Experience with vector databases is a plus;
  • Ability to diagnose performance issues and propose technical solutions;
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail - must understand not only 
    how
     queries are written but also 
    why
     they perform the way they do.

In this position, you will serve as the 
go-to expert for understanding how our data flows, performs, and scales

. Your work will directly influence application speed, user experience, and system reliability.
