Job Description

Global payments are complex and ever-evolving. At Checkout our software engineers develop the next-generation payments technologies that enable our Merchants to boost their acceptance rates, cut processing costs, fight fraud, and create cutting edge technology that enables extraordinary customer experiences.

We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are passionate about working in an Engineering environment which focuses on building products to achieve the company's strategic goals. You'll get to work with teams from across 's portfolio of products and services who all have a real customer first philosophy.

As a Software Engineer working out of our Tallinn office here at , you'll be exposed to the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), you will work on the specification, design, coding, testing, and deployment of various solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate and spirited, lives and breathes Agile and firmly believes in creating clean, testable code.

What you'll be doing:

• Collaborate with globally distributed and multidisciplinary teams
• Assist in requirements identification and in producing specifications
• Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation
• Participate in team knowledge management and make recommendations for continuous improvement of SDLC
• Contribute and adhere to coding standards, best practices, and procedures
• Build DBT models
• Assure data completeness and integrity
• Perform testing (acceptance, unit, etc)
   

What we're looking for:

• Enjoy learning new skills and using the best tools for the job
• Good knowledge of Java.
• Experience in Software Development, Design, and Architecture
• Knowledge and application of software design patterns
• Experience with Unit and Acceptance testing
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment workflows
• Superb communication skills, ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Eagerness to know everything about finance, payments, and accounting
• Fluent in English
   

Nice to haves:

• Experience with DBT, Snowflake, Airflow, Monte Carlo, Docker, AWS, Terraform, Datadog experience
• Working within a microservices architecture/distributed architecture
• Experience working in a compliance environment
• Scalability and high throughput software
