Lead Recruiter
We're looking for a Lead Recruiter with deep gaming industry expertise who can thrive in the fast-paced, ever-evolving world of co-development. This is a highly strategic role for someone who understands the unique challenges of global game development recruiting and knows how to move fast, think smart, and act with care.
You'll lead full-cycle recruitment for both Devoted Studios (our co-development production company) and Devoted Fusion (our B2B freelancer hub). You'll partner with hiring managers across multiple disciplines, build robust pipelines of worldwide talent, and make a huge impact on a fast-paced organization.
We operate in a dynamic environment where things move fast, change often, and expectations are high. The ideal candidate knows how to evaluate talent deeply and efficiently, navigate pressure with confidence, and communicate effectively across global cultures. If you're an action-focused recruiter who knows how to adapt and deliver, this is the place for you.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruitment globally across game development and operations, including freelance, contract, and employee hires.
- Maintain a strong focus on hitting speed and quality benchmarks across the hiring process and track performance against key targets like time-to-fill, response time, and candidate conversion, and report progress weekly to leadership
- Negotiate offers, draft agreements, and collaborate with the Operations team to ensure a smooth transition to the onboarding process
- Maintain close communication with hiring managers throughout the probationary period to assess fit, flag risks early, and proactively manage a talent pipeline to ensure backup options are available if needed
- Act as a strategic partner to hiring managers, participating in role scoping, calibration interviews, and decision-making to ensure thoughtful and aligned hiring
- Collaborate with and manage a dedicated Sourcer, actively leveraging your collective network to fill multiple roles within tight deadlines
- Evaluate candidates rigorously, using skill tests, personality assessments, recorded video assessments, structured interviews and references
- Manage recruiting SOPs, SLAs, and department goals, ensuring consistency and alignment across the organization.
- Implement and optimize recruitment tools, including the ATS (Workable), AI tools, and LinkedIn Recruiter to improve hiring velocity and track data.
- Enforce hiring standards across all roles, including timely feedback, clear decision ownership, and candidate response timelines at all stages.
- Work closely with finance and department leadership to understand headcount forecasts and approved budgets
- Deliver weekly updates and monthly recruiting reports to leadership, including pipeline health, cost-per-hire, referral performance, time-to-hire benchmarks, and source effectiveness
- Encourage a strong referral-based recruiting program, leveraging trusted networks to ensure faster-than-average close times
- Stay current on co-development market dynamics and regional talent trends to inform recruiting strategy
- 5+ years of recruitment experience, including at least 3 years in the gaming industry (with a strong preference for candidates experienced in co-development or remote production environments)
- Proven ability to hire across all areas of game development: technical, creative, production, and operational
- Agency or contractor-side recruiting experience is strongly preferred; in-house recruiters must be highly autonomous and results-driven
- An established network of gaming talent across Europe and Latin America and North America; additional global reach is a strong plus
- Deep understanding of the pace, quality bar, and stakeholder complexity of co-development environments
- Familiarity with the newest recruiting tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, AI tools, ATS systems)
- Clear, confident communicator who navigates ambiguity and cross-cultural communication with empathy and precision
- Track record of operating in high-pressure, fast-scaling environments, delivering results and offering transparency on processes.
- Strong collaboration skills with CEOs, Finance, Production, and HR teams on headcount planning, recruiting ROI, and hiring budget alignment
- Demonstrated ability to hire high-retention talent with lasting impact on project and team success
