The Head of Crew Control is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and disciplinary management of the Crew Control department. This role ensures operational stability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, aligning day-to-day operations with corporate objectives. The Head of Crew Control must be KPI-driven, ensuring that operational and strategic objectives are met through data-based decision making and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Crew Control team, including disciplinary responsibilities, recruitment, leave planning, performance evaluations, and career development
  • Oversee daily crew allocation and operational decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with EASA FTL regulations and company policies
  • Set strategic goals and KPIs for Crew Control operations in alignment with company objectives
  • Act as the main escalation and decision point for operational disruptions and crew issues
  • Collaborate closely with OCC/Dispatch, Crew Planning, Flight Operations, and Cabin Crew Management
  • Analyze performance data, identify improvement areas, and implement operational enhancements
  • Report regularly to the Director Crew Operations on operational performance and key developments
Requirements
  • Extensive leadership experience with proven success in managing large operational teams
  • Deep understanding of EASA FTL regulations, airline operations, and industry best practices
  • Strong decision-making skills under pressure with a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Experience with Crew Control tools (e.g., AIMS)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Willingness to work in shift patterns, including weekends and public holidays, as required
  • Strong focus on KPI-driven management and performance optimization
