Senior iOS Engineer
We are looking for seasoned iOS Engineers to join our Mobile engineering teams at Bolt and help shape the future of ridehailing. This involves exciting product challenges, such as implementing a top-notch user experience with our product-design team and backend engineers You'll have an opportunity to contribute to the development of backend-driven UI.
About us
With over 200 million customers in 50+ countries, Bolt is one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe and Africa. And it's all thanks to our people.
We believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of race, colour, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
Our ultimate goal is to make cities for people, not cars, and we need your help to achieve this mission
About the role
As a iOS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying mobile solutions that improve our micro-mobility functionality. That will mostly happen via coding in Swift, combining elements of backend-driven UI.
Mobile engineers at Bolt usually get onboarded to back-end as well within their first year, so this could be a great opportunity if you are keen to grow as a full-stack engineer. All engineers at Bolt have a heavy inclination towards product thinking, so you will get a chance to shape up and drive exciting product initiatives yourself, in partnership with your Product Manager and the rest of the Micro-Mobility team
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Architecting, designing, developing, and deploying Bolt's growing backend.
- Designing, developing, A/B testing and deploying solutions that improve our user journey.
- Working closely with back-end engineers to define and implement API integrations for micro-mobility-related business logic.
- Testing your solutions thoroughly to make sure they meet their intended goals. That involves building meaningful unit tests and working closely with QA testers to cover usual and edge case scenarios.
- Building a deep understanding of our products and of the way they impact the business metrics and end users. Contributing ideas and constructive feedback to our product roadmap.
- Leading feature developments from idea to the point where they bring positive, validated impact to the end users.
About you:
- You are great at making data-driven decisions that positively impact the business. Experience in product companies with a bias for properly experimenting their product hypotheses is a plus.
- You have a drive for leading initiatives and features till the end, even if the last mile is the hardest, and for monitoring and ensuring their success even after delivery.
- You have experience testing and releasing mobile changes while ensuring their quality across multiple iOS versions. You have experience with unit testing and automation testing frameworks (XCTest, Quick/Nimble).
- You have strong principles towards writing clean, simple, secure, and maintainable code.
- You possess a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don't tick every box, please consider applying
Why you'll love it here:
- Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
- Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
- Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
- Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
- Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
- Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.
*Some perks may differ depending on your location and role.
