About the Role

Join our research team to push the boundaries of autonomous robotics software. We work closely with development teams, bringing a scientific and experimental perspective to solving challenges with autonomy software and data processing —mapping, localization, perception (radar, camera), sensor fusion, planning & control.

How you will contribute:

  • Research & Knowledge Sharing
  • Explore state-of-the-art methods in autonomy and related fields – in topics such as object detection & tracking, point cloud processing, sensor fusion, to name a few examples.
  • Summarize key findings and share insights with engineering teams through reviews and reports.

  • Algorithm & Model Development, Prototyping

  • Design and adapt algorithms and (machine learning) models for autonomy challenges.
  • Develop proof-of-concept implementations and support the dev teams in transitioning from prototypes to production-ready code (including C++ integration).

  • Validation & Experimentation

  • Formulate data-driven methods to validate and benchmark autonomy models and systems.
  • Design and conduct experiments, analyze results, and produce scientific-style reports.

What We're Looking For

  • MSc or PhD (or PhD student) in computer science, robotics, mathematics, physics, or related fields.
  • Comfortable working with mathematical modelling, scientific computing, optimization, and data analysis problems
  • Experience with C++ and motivation to deepen your skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one prototyping language (Python, Julia, etc.).
  • Comfortable working with Linux and using modern software development best practices and tools such as git, Docker, etc
  • Self-driven, curious, and collaborative.
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills

Bonus points

  • Robotics and/or distributed systems experience
    (sensors, radar, ROS, message queues)
  • C++ guru
    (CMake, ..)
  • Optimization expertise
    (trajectory, mathematical)
  • ML expertise:
training, designing, tuning deep learning models
