Tallinn, Harjumaa, Estonia Riverty Full time €60,000 - €120,000 per year

Everyone's story matters. Come shape your story with us at Riverty.

But where does that take you?
To one of our 30 hybrid workspaces – designed for exchanging ideas, learning from others, and shaping the way we work. An international community of over 4,000 people, representing almost 80 nationalities across 11 countries. United by one mission: Combining empathy, advanced technology and data-driven insights to keep people and businesses in flow. With payments made for them. So that they don't have to worry about it.

And there's more:
We are part of the family-owned Bertelsmann group. Established. Corporate. In a fast-paced industry. We enable flexible payments in various industries, simplifying the financial management of known brands and helping people repay debt to build financial confidence. In short: shaping FinTech.

We are looking for a
Senior Software Engineer
to join our team in Tallinn Tech Hub
We build and maintain core financial services that power Riverty' s consumer products. This includes systems for tracking customer account balances, orchestrating invoice creation and distribution, and ensuring financial data flows accurately across merchants and platforms. Whether working on transactional ledgers or customer-facing invoice flows, you'll contribute to scalable, event-driven systems that support transparency, compliance, and a seamless user experience.

What will be your challenge:
You will join one of our product teams and daily you will:

  • Design, develop, test, and ship robust, maintainable, and readable software, applications, APIs, and other workflows
  • Initiate, participate in, and communicate technical architecture designs
  • Attend regular scrum ceremonies as a member of an agile cross-functional team
  • Analyze, discuss, and implement business requirements while maintaining good documentation of the systems and components you create
  • Bring in industry standards and best practices to continually improve our codebase and architecture
  • Make a positive impact on our engineering culture by adopting, implementing, and providing feedback on best standards and practices

What will help you to succeed in the role:
To thrive in this role and make a meaningful impact, we believe the following qualities and experiences will serve you well:

  • You're a seasoned software engineer with a strong command of C# and .NET, and a track record of delivering production-grade systems.
  • You've built and supported cloud-native applications and understand the challenges of distributed systems.
  • You think in systems and design with focus on scalability, resilience, and long-term maintainability.
  • You're proactive in shaping technical direction and enjoy contributing to architectural decisions.
  • You care deeply about craftsmanship and continuously seek opportunities to improve your skills and share knowledge with others.
  • You thrive in collaborative environments, value diverse perspectives, and communicate clearly in English across disciplines.
  • You're comfortable taking ownership—from ideation to deployment—and balancing technical excellence with business impact.
  • Familiarity with FinTech or banking systems is a plus.

About the technologies we use:
Our teams work with a modern and evolving tech stack centered around C# and the .NET ecosystem. We build cloud-native applications using Azure and follow microservices architecture principles. You'll encounter:

  • RESTful APIs and distributed systems
  • Azure cloud services supporting scalable and event-driven architectures
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework
  • Messaging platforms like RabbitMQ, MassTransit, and Kafka
  • Containerization with Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Monitoring and observability tools such as NewRelic

We value clean architecture, automation, and continuous improvement—and we're always open to new ideas and technologies that help us build better systems.
