Director of Higher Command Studies Course

We are looking for
a dynamic professional with a background in senior leadership in the military, government, or international organisations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for developing future leaders and possess the ability to bridge academic theory with practical application.

LOCATION:

Tartu, Estonia  

SALARY:

50 400–72 000EUR per annum (gross)

CONTRACT:
Indefinite duration, full-time

Responsibilities

1. Lead, plan, and deliver the Higher Command Studies Course (HCSC).
2. Supervise and mentor HCSC faculty and students.
3. Serve as a role model and advisor for HCSC students on their development as leaders and staff officers.
4. Oversee the curriculum, ensuring all learning outcomes are met.
5. Initiate and oversee the planning and execution of the annual Senior Leaders' Course (SLC), unless otherwise directed by the Commandant.
6. Maintain BALTDEFCOL educational standards and policies.
7. Guide long-term curriculum and course planning.
8. Hold responsibility for planning and executing the budget for assigned courses, ensuring effective allocation and administration of designated funds.

Qualifications

1. Master's degree or equivalent.
2. Strategic security and defence policy experience (MoD, Defence Staff, NATO, EU).
3. Professional experience in international operations and/or exercises.
4. Management experience.
5. Excellent English (NATO STANAG 6001 level 3333 or equivalent).
6. Security clearance level: NATO/EU Secret.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Doctorate in security/defence studies or related field.
2. Experience in planning and delivery of professional military education.
