Rides Matching
team in Tallinn.

The Matching team is in the heart of the main business line, responsible for searching, dispatching, and allocating drivers on orders all across the globe. You will lead a team of highly skilled backend and data science engineers in Tallinn and closely collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Operations teams.

About The Role
Matching is a complex system that is a cornerstone of the ride-hailing business. The core responsibility of the system of to find an optimal match for an order within milliseconds, while keeping an extensive dataset of drivers up-to-date and easy to search.

Your role is to guide the technical vision of the team, but at the same time be a solid contributor to the product part of the domain, helping to shape the next iteration of Matching platforms and finding ways to design and build the most efficient dispatching logic it could be.

Your daily adventures will include:

• Leading and mentoring a highly-skilled team of backend and data science engineers in the Matching domain, pushing for limits and unlocking people's potential.
• Driving the development of new matching systems that help to more efficiently dispatch orders and help riders and drivers solve their problems faster, more efficiently, while keeping the whole marketplace efficiency in mind.
• Ensuring technical excellence, maintaining high standards for quality, performance, and reliability in engineering projects.
• Collaborating closely with Product, Analytics, and Operations to define priorities, plan roadmaps, and deliver solutions.
• Managing team growth and performance, including hiring, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback.

About you:

• You know how to achieve results by both enabling your team and leading by example.
• You are not afraid of performance management in all its variations, from attracting top talent and helping people grow to making hard decisions.
• You know how to get data, how to make data-driven decisions, and how to make a decision without possessing full, exhaustive information about the problem.
• You have backend development experience.
• You know how to lead initiatives end-to-end and achieve results.
