Lead Data Engineer – Lending Unit (10 to 12 Years Experience)

Role Overview:

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will architect and lead the development of enterprise-grade data solutions for the Lending Unit. You will drive the adoption of modern data engineering practices, mentor junior engineers, and ensure alignment with data governance and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect scalable and secure data platforms using Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.

Lead the design and implementation of data mesh frameworks and federated data ownership models.

Oversee the development of complex ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, dbt, and custom frameworks.

Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact data solutions.

Define and enforce best practices for data quality, lineage, and observability.

Drive cloud-native data engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies.

Required Skills:

10–12 years of experience in data engineering, with leadership in large-scale data projects.

Expert-level SQL and data modeling skills.

Deep experience with cloud data platforms and orchestration tools.

Strong understanding of data integration, security, and compliance in financial services.

Proven experience implementing data mesh or distributed data architecture.

Excellent communication and leadership skills in English.
