TalTech Doctoral Student Council is looking for an EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (0,5 FTE; temporary contract)

Help shape a more influential and unified community of PhD students

The TalTech Doctoral Student Council, or DoKo for short, is a non-profit organization established with the aim of improving the quality of doctoral studies at TalTech by contributing to the well-being of the university's doctoral students. Through DoKo, doctoral students are represented in the university's decision-making bodies, which allows us to have a say in the development of the university. In addition, we organize joint events and share important information with doctoral students.

part-time (0.5 FTE)
to support the cooperation and well-being of TalTech doctoral students through organizational consistency and systematic action. Our new executive director will play a key role in helping to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. The executive director will work closely with the board of the non-profit organization, which will set the executive director's goals.

Your tasks:

• Supporting the daily operations of the Doctoral Student Council (e.g., document management, communication channel management, meeting organization)
• Managing the process of new members joining – collecting contacts, communication, forwarding information to the board
• Assisting the board in implementing the action plan, giving them space to focus on strategy and representation
• Supporting the management in coordinating cooperation and information flow between members
• Being a pillar of support for DoKo, helping to shape the organization's work culture and maintain its consistency

Important to know:

The CEO is not a member of the board and does not replace the board – their role is to support the board in fulfilling its statutory duties, including organizing activities, involving members, and developing well-being and cooperation.

Requirements for candidates:

• Excellent command of Estonian and English, both spoken and written
• Ability to work in a structured and systematic manner
• Initiative
• Very good communication skills
• Desire and ability to support a mission-based association in achieving its goals

Advantages

• Previous experience in managing the day-to-day work of an organization
• Experience in budgeting and monitoring, ability to prepare financial reports
• Previous or current connection with TalTech, knowledge of how the university operates
