Research Associate

A temporary Research Associate position is available in the Department of Internal Medicine at East Tennessee State University. The successful candidate will work closely on a funded project related to cancer research that relies on cellular and molecular techniques for cancer-focused studies, including cancer cell culture, PCR , flow cytometry, immunoblotting, confocal microscopy, Plasmid transfection and transformation, cloning, and others. Job duties will consist of: Participate in hypothesis development and experiment design. Conduct literature searches and summarize information in a proper format for studies Manage cell line and tissue inventories. Extract DNA , RNA , and protein samples for downstream studies. Handle and process a variety of specimens, such as tumor tissues. Assist in machine maintenance and operation. Run tests, evaluate procedures, and create and record standard experimental procedures. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Biological Sciences or related areas.
