A Sneak Peek into Your Role

• Administer and maintain database management systems.
• Design and implement database structures from conceptual to physical models.
• Monitor database performance and manage configurations for optimal responsiveness.
• Manage user access, control permissions, and ensure database security.
• Develop, manage, and test backup and disaster recovery (DR) plans.
• Ensure data standards and compliance with regulations like GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
• Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations.
• Participate in capacity planning and analyze/resolve root causes of database issues.
• Develop and maintain database scripts and tools for automation.
• Collaborate with IT project managers, database engineers, and developers.

You're good at

• Proven experience for 5+ years as a Database Administrator with a strong understanding of database architecture, design, and data modeling.
• Expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB, Kafka).
• Proficiency in SQL, scripting languages (Shell, Python), and with Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with database performance tuning, optimization, monitoring, backup, and recovery.
• Experience with data migration strategies and high-availability solutions.
• Knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes) and tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Solid understanding of database security best practices.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a proactive, results-oriented, and strategic mindset.
• Fluency in verbal and written communication in English is essential, as it's our primary means of interaction.

Coolbet operates in a highly regulated environment. This role requires obtaining a gaming license in any jurisdiction in which the company operates, and this position requires the ability to secure and maintain a license in all relevant jurisdictions. A gaming license application utilizes personal data, a criminal and credit check, and fingerprints. Coolbet will cover all costs and provide access to an Identity Protection program.
