Head of Engineering
to join their organisation. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role will own the company-wide technology strategy, engineering culture, and organisational development while ensuring the delivery of all critical product initiatives.
About the Role
The Head of Engineering is a key leadership position responsible for defining and executing the engineering vision and strategy of the company's iGaming platform. This individual will lead multiple engineering teams, foster a culture of high performance, and ensure the timely delivery of a scalable, secure, multi-product, high-quality gaming platform and player account management system. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of online gaming platforms, architecture, and compliance with industry regulations.
Role Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Define and execute the technical strategy in alignment with product and business goals.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Business, and Operations teams to ensure seamless delivery.
- Lead and grow team leads and engineering teams.
- Oversee hiring, training, performance evaluations, and career development.
Technical Oversight:
- Ensure scalable, secure, and resilient system architecture across the gaming platform.
- Own the software development lifecycle, DevOps, and CI/CD processes.
- Guide technical decision-making and enforce best practices in coding, QA, and release management.
- Drive innovation by adopting emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Delivery:
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Implement metrics-driven engineering performance evaluation (e.g., DORA, KPIs).
- Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure regulatory standards (e.g., MGA, SGA) are met.
- Act as a technical liaison between executives, stakeholders, and development teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in an engineering management role leading multiple teams.
- Proven experience in iGaming, sportsbook, online casino, or other regulated digital industries is highly desirable
- Familiarity with game engines, RNGs, wallets, CRM systems, and third-party integrations (e.g., payment gateways, game providers).
- Experience partnering with product, business, and executive teams on company-wide strategic initiatives.
- Strong background in building scalable distributed systems and high-performance consumer-facing applications.
