Role Overview: The Senior Middleware Engineer will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of Luminor messaging solutions. This role involves ensuring the reliability, availability, performance, and security of the middleware infrastructure, supporting business applications, and participating in strategic initiatives such as cloud migration and system modernization.

What You Will Do:

• Install, configure, and maintain IBM MQ, IBM Message Broker (MB), IBM ACE and SonicMQ environments, including Queue Managers, Clients, and Brokers.
• Perform version upgrades, apply fix packs, and manage patching cycles according to best practices and security requirements.
• Monitor system performance metrics, message throughput, and latency. Identify performance bottlenecks and implement tuning adjustments.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting for middleware-related issues, including connectivity problems, message delivery failures, and performance degradation.
• Monitor resource utilization and forecast future capacity needs. Design and implement scalable solutions to meet growing business demands.
• Develop, implement, test, and maintain disaster recovery procedures for the middleware environment. Participate in regular DR testing exercises.
• Implement and manage security configurations, including TLS/SSL for channels, Channel Authentication Rules (CHLAUTH), and Object Authority Manager (OAM). Manage certificates and keystores for secure communication.
• Act as a primary point of contact for application teams regarding middleware connectivity and messaging issues. Interface with IBM support for problem resolution and technical guidance.
• Participate in the planning, design, and execution of migrating IBM MQ/MB workloads to cloud environments. Contribute to initiatives involving the deployment and management of middleware in containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Manage and support other middleware technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, and IBM DataPower. Ensure seamless integration and interoperability between different middleware platforms.

What We Expect:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in middleware engineering, with a focus on IBM MQ and IBM MB.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in IBM MQ and IBM MB administration.
  • Experience with RHEL or other Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and security configurations.
  • Experience with additional middleware technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, and IBM DataPower.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
